4 Blogging / Content Creation Mistakes To AVOID!

We have all made mistakes at some point when it comes to doing something new, and blogging or creating content for your website is not an exception. Creating content can be difficult at times. Keeping up with the latest and producing quality content can be time-consuming, but it’s key when it comes to content marketing. Today I’d like to share with you 4 common mistakes that content creators tend to make and some easy ways to avoid them:

Mistake #1: Not understanding your audience. Your audience plays a big role in helping your content marketing efforts succeed. If you don’t know who your target audience is or what they like, there is NO WAY you will produce content that will generate the engagement you desire your audience to have with you. Make sure you understand your target audience and produce content that’s tailored to them. What do they like? What can I offer them? Answering these questions with your content strategy will result in engaged customers.

Mistake #2: Not developing your own voice. Having your own voice is one of the most important aspects of content creation. Your writing voice defines you and creates that connection you desire to have with your audience. It ensures consistency across channels and allows for quicker content evaluation and review. Always be yourself and make sure you let your personality shine through.

Mistake #3: Not making your content visually appealing. Did you know that 90% of the information our brain processes is visual? If you are not sharing images in every post, I can assure you that you are losing engagement with your audience. A picture is worth a thousand words, and when it comes to capturing your audience’s attention, you want to take full advantage of every chance to communicate your message.

Mistake #4: Not having solid content. The goal is ultimately to provide a place where your audience knows they will be getting quality and consistent content. Inconsistent content across channels is what discourages people from coming back to you. Make sure that you are tackling relevant and up-to-date content so that your target audience keeps coming back for more. Also, focus on one topic at a time, you don’t need to cover every topic on earth to make your content engaging. In this case, LESS IS MORE!
